The 6.7 Power Stroke came from Ford with a Bosch CP4 high-pressure fuel pump, and it is the engine's known weak spot. When one fails it sheds metal into the injectors, rails and tank, and a pump job turns into a whole fuel system. We replace it with an S&S Diesel DCR pump, built to take the fuel we actually run.
Signs it's going: hard starts, long cranking, low power when towing, stalling, fuel rail pressure codes.
